Last month, for the first time, I had the opportunity to visit Mysore City with my friends. Visiting Mysore City was like a dream come true for me! There is something special in this city, due to which it is called the cleanest city of India. This Mysore city of Karnataka fulfills all the criteria, making it one of the best places in India, Mysore city is a wonderful center of art and literature, Mysore city is not only modern in itself but also has its ancient history. And this is why this city is maintaining its own identity in the whole world. We have mentioned top 10 places to visit in Mysore City in this blog where you can go and celebrate your holidays with your friends and family.

2. Chamundi Hills:- Chamundi Hills is a very famous place in Mysore, which is 13 km away from Mysore. This is an amazing piece of artwork. There is a very beautiful temple among the hills, which people know as Chamundeshwari, to reach this temple 1000 stairs have to be walked.

The architecture of this temple is amazing which is impossible to describe and at the top there are 7 tier gopurams and 7 golden urns which are seen. In this temple, there are very beautiful idols of Durga Devi, which are a sample of amazing handicrafts. Durga Mata is depicted in this temple with eight hands. 3. Karanji Lake:-Karanji Lake is very popular among tourists coming from far and wide. People come from almost all the cities of India. Here you can see many families and they enjoy great picnic. Karanji Lake is only 2 kilometers away from Mysore Palace. You will find this lake under the majestic skinned hills. Karanji Lake is a very prominent scenic spot. All types of transportation are available to reach this lake.

You can come to Karanji Lake anytime from 5:30 a.m in the morning to 8:30 p.m in the evening. Just keep in mind that during the week, only on Tuseday, Karanji Lake is closed. 4. Mysore Zoo:- It is also known as Shri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden and is a very beautiful zoological park. People come from every corner of the country to see different kinds of animals and birds in this zoological park. 5. Brindavan Gardens:-Beyond the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam, 23 km from Mysore, is the Vrindavan Garden. This garden is very famous for its beauty and nature. People come from far and wide to see this. People come here to soothe and calm their minds. The magical music of this garden is a wonderful enchantment and the fountain is made by seeing it. People here enjoy boat rides and at the same time the gardens of fruits are also very beautiful and attractive. 6. KRS DAM:- There are many dams in South India and each one is very famous for its own special reason, but the KRS Dam which is built on the Cauvery River is a very beautiful and attractive dam which is visited by people from all over India. KRS Dam is one of the scenic spots in Mysore, just 30 minutes from Mysore City.

If you are coming to Mysore for a day or two, then this dam can be a suitable travel destination.

The garden, which is very near to the dam is very attractive and musical fountains makes your evening special. People come to this park and feel very happy.

St. Philomena Church:- It is true that Mysore is famous all over the world for its unique and grand architecture, one of the most visited places to visit in Mysore and one of them is St. Philomena Church. It is a very unique and wonderful church built in the Gothic style. This church is built very thoughtfully and keeping in mind the architecture.

The church’s basement has catacombs below the main altar. Many beautiful paintings of Christ Era are also in this church which reminds us of Christ Era. The floor plan is laid out in the shape of a holy cross, with the Congregation Hall, Choir and Trenship at its ends. 8. Lalitha Mahal:- Lalitha Mahal is a very magnificent and excellent palace of Mysore City and is the second largest palace in Mysore. The specialty of this palace is that the royal family people used to use it as a guest house. This palace is situated at the foot of Chamundi Hills, and the surrounding hills offer a very breathtaking view.

This palace is adorned with Belgian crystal chandeliers and Persian carpets. A part of this palace has now been converted into a very luxurious hotel and controlled by the Government of India. 9:-Railway Museum:- There are only two railway museums in India which are very famous. One is the Rail Museum of Delhi which is the largest rail museum in India and the rail museum of Mysore which is the second largest rail museum in India. The early locomotives and steam locomotives have been presented very beautifully in this railway museum.

It has a mini train which takes all the visitors to all the breasts of the museum. The Mysore Rail Museum is very popular with children and older people also like to come here with family. The museum also mentions the train journeys made by the royal family.

Timings: Tues-Sun from 10:00 am to 5.30 pm, closed on Monday

10:-GRS Fantasy Park:- GRS Fantasy Park is a very popular entertainment and water park in Mysore. In this water park, very interesting swings have been arranged for the children.
